This drug may cause harm to any unborn baby. Do not receive BorteNat without telling your physician if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant during treatment tell your physician. Avoid being around people with the flu or cold or any other contagious illnesses. Contact your physician immediately if you develop signs of infection.

This drug can lower blood cells which help you fight infections. You also are easier to bleed from any injury or get sick from being around other who is ill. Your blood will need to be tested on regularly. Functions of the liver may also need to be tested. Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, if you are having dialysis; have disorder affecting bleeding or blood clotting, low level of white or red blood cells or platelets, congestive heart failure, heart disease, shingles or a history of herpes, low or high blood pressure, nerve problems such as numbness, burning, tingly feeling and pain.
